Honest Comparison
Ashen Throne vs Call of Dragons
Two strategy MMOs that diverge from the Rise of Kingdoms formula in opposite directions.
Short version: Call of Dragons takes Rise of Kingdoms and adds a high-fantasy coat of paint, behemoths, and flying units. Ashen Throne takes the same alliance-warfare foundation and adds fog-of-war extraction PvE, a counter-triangle combat system, persistent Citadel sieges, and a player-run economy.
Both come from outside the original RoK studio (CoD is from Farlight, an independent studio under the same parent as Lilith; we're an indie). Both want to be "the next strategy MMO." We're betting on different things.

Where Call of Dragons wins
- Production polish. Cinematic battles, dramatic hero animations, beautiful art.
- Content volume. Years of heroes, factions, behemoths, and seasons live now.
- Alliance social hooks. Behemoth raids are great alliance bonding.
Where Ashen Throne wins
- Tension. CoD's PvE is more dramatic than RoK's, but it's not tense. Ours is.
- Combat depth. Counter triangle + tier suppression rewards thinking, not just hero collection.
- Anti-pay-to-win. CoD has the same monetization gravity as RoK. We don't.
- Ownership. Your rare commanders are yours, not the studio's.
